LET US CONSIDER RENEWED RURAL CYMRIC REVOLT, Is Such Ever On The Cards Again?

        1. Recently came accross this on the web, news to me but shall certainly look up the book mentioned, it's inspired me much in writting up this post.

        1. Welsh Rural Resistance did not die out with Rebecca, there was a third 'Rebecca Revolt' in Radnorshire that lasted into the thirties and forties of the 20th century concerned with fishing rights. Further in North East Wales there was continuing 'Tithe War Troubles' and let us not forget the Revolt of Farm Labourers, a failed revolt but a tale of great social struggle:

Of course resistance to the military take over of Welsh Land pre WW II witnessed continued rural resistance as was the struggle against the take over of Capel Celyn to make of the land the Tryweryn Reservior. This however plus the 1936 Burning of the Bombing School at Penyberth, bombing of water piple lines plus the Meibion Glyndwr 'Arson War' were more to do with militant nationalism rather than popular struggle. Though, the cultural nationalist rural resistance of groups as Adfer, Cymuned, Llais Gwynedd and rural CyIG fall some where between the two stools and although being nationalists as also elements of popular struggle.

However, what of popular rural struggle and rural Welsh Resistance today? to me it seems to have reached a low point of almost being non existance other than in the localiseds Anti - Windmill campaigning which rural Cultural Nationalists fob of as being an English Settler issue working against the interests of Welsh farmers? Of course 'Hwntws' in Coal Mining areas once said''what the hell have farmers done for the miners/workers?''. But that's not the patriotic point is it or is it? For Farmers accepting subsidies to stick up windmills might be helping them selves are not really doing our country or communities any good that's for sure. Neither is a Welsh Assembly that promotes the Wind Milling of Wales, mainly in interest of 'Green Capitalism' at home and abroad. WAG policies are of course advancing Green Imperialism and Colonialism in Cymru/Wales and to whose interests, indeed not Cymru or China that's for sure? See Blow blog lnks:
