The politics of 'Chicano Nationalism' and those who support or are against it will make your head spin and be a real education on how ideas flow and adapt to circumstance, society and times. The arguements around 'Chicano Nationalism' rage on subjects 'Homphobia', 'Sexism' and 'Racism' in particular and cannot be ignored, what comes to my mind when reading this material is that the 'Barrio Warriors', I first came across some years ago and admired has become something possibly less admirable but still projects as 'Chicano Park' are excellent examples of community work but still on reading this material, I am thinking more like the 'Welsh Defence League' than 'Y Cyfamodwyr' or 'Balchder Cymru', on the other hand the new Cymru 1400 and it's sattilite Face Book Fantasies as 'Eryr Wen' and' Fe Godwn Ni Eto' need to be carefully watched in it's potential for 'extremist radical Welsh nationalism' of doubtful potential, not as 'Chicano Nationalism' but more the mindless rubbishy but dodgy 'Retro Welsh Republicanism'.
To conclude after reading the below, I am of the oppinion that America is heading down the road towards a messy break up ending of their North American Empire. Most worrying is that the American Government might see a strategy of staving this off, for some while longer by continuing foreign wars to keep all those military trained young men of all ethnic groups well out of the way. No wars and these guys are going back to an America in Socio - Economic Decline where there will be few opportunities for work long term, this no doubt will lead to a rise in crime and possibly 'Drug Wars' spilling across the Mexican - American Border into 'AZTLAN'. The future is indeed very grim! but don't worry, the nearest such will get to Wales is over on my Assyrian Rod Blog where militant Welsh Nationalists seek to recreate an Independent Greater Powysian Nation by declaring the land between Offa's Dyke to the banks of the Severn, as a' Gwlad Hafren East Bank'. Some however want to go furrther and claim all the lands claimed by Owain Glyndwr in the Tri - Partite Indenture but why stop there? Thinks on this and don't worry just get educated and creative!
