Looks as if we are but just over a month away from a British General Election in early May and, for Wales it will be quite a major challenging election, not least for PLAID formerly known as Plaid Cymru aka by some but not for a long time as the Welsh Nationalist Party. There is a lot at stake as Plaid's 'One Wales' coalition with Labour and if or, not Plaid is halted from any great advance by a Labour 'hold on' in the old industrial areas along with a Tory advance in the 'Anglicised' coastal belts and maybe in central Cymru. Myself think Plaid will hold it's Pura Wallia constituencies and maybe take Ynys Mon now being held by Labour and Ceredigion now held by the Liberals. If Plaid was wise they would make a deal with the Liberals, maybe tempt them enough to give Plaid a free ride in Ceredigion, Ynys Mon and Preseli for Plaid's support in Powys and elsewhere.
.
Afterall there a good number of seats where Plaid does not stand a chance and surely it would be of greater benefit to their Cultural Nationalist cause, if Plaid represented all of the old lands of Cunedda - 'Tiroedd Cunedda' from North to South. All West of the Cambrian Mountains - the natural barrier, a frontier even for a potential Fro Cymraeg Fawr of an extended Pura Wallia, this would be a more natural region for Plaid to explore and advance their Cultural Nationalist ideas and Initiatives. I am encouraged to advance this idea as a sound political option in support of recent call for Cultural Nationalists to wake up to realism, in so far that a fully bilingual Wales will never be achieved. Such vanity does not help 'Yr Iaith' to survive in it's 'Cymric Heartlands' but rather only sustains 'Y Crachach Newydd' - Englands Client Tribe in Wales in their 'Pontcanna Patagonia' and Satilite Sub Colony in Bae Caerdydd. However, recent call for a Gwynedd only Fro Cymraeg Newydd I reject in favour of a much larger Fro Cymraeg Fawr aka 'Tiroedd Cunedda'.
.
Of course there is much more at stake which this BGE 2010 outcome will have influence on as a possible referendum re more powers for the Welsh Assembly in the Autumn, if a resurgent Conservatism does not scupper one way or another. Then there's the Assembly elections next year, myself whilst having no time for British General Elections or Devolution and WAG - 'Sham Senedd', I cannot bring myself to call for patriots not to vote but abstain yes! why not? Surely all those who consider themselves 'Welsh Republicans' might find some sympathy with this patriotic position? On the other hand if there is no question on Independence in the aforementioned Referendum, I would call for a NO VOTE!
. Whatever, all above aside for moment, not least my thoughts to introduce you to The Welsh Patriots BGE 2010 Special, to be a number of posts during April up to the election in May 2010. Posts will focus on drawing your attention to what could be the most interesting candidates and thus exciting constituency campaigns, I start off with Henry Jones Davies, founder and one time Editor of Cambria Magazine. He possibly now would refute that he was a co - founder with Mark Roberts (Marcher Lord Land Grabber) and Toni Lewis of the 'Knighs of St David', hence HJD's love of Baner Dewi, a love he shares with the Wlsh Christian Party. Toni Lewis waswith with I, founder of the Patriotic Front and the annual Rali Cilmeri. Toni Lewis with me was also one of the main Anti - Investiture Campaign protagonists arrested and tried in the 1969 'Swansea Nine' trial.
.
Unlike many Plaid people, Henry Jones Davies has no problem about mixing it with ''Welsh Rebels'' at Rali Cilmeri or else where, no his he afraid of having articles in his Cambria Magazine as on death of our radical rebel 'Welsh Heroes' such as Denis Coslett. No did he have any second thought about publishing an article about John Jenkins which was more patriotically positive than the usual condemnations of our lickspittal 'Welsh Media'. HJD is no mean nationalist thinker, writter or speaker, his best article was an unpublished eulogy upon death of FWA Commandant in Cheif Julian 'Cayo' Evans. His best speech, I have yet to hear but I know he is a good Nationalist speaker going by his speaking translation of a Speech 'Yn Cymraeg' made by former FWA Western Command Commandant Denis Coslett. This speech made in Tafarn Llywelyn at time of a Rali Cilmeri was in fact that made by Denis at end of his Swansea trial in 1969, he too could deliver a good speech with much powerful patriotic drama. The Tafarn Llywelyn event was made rebeliously complete when a fella standing behind Denis and HJD pulled on a Black Balaclava, pure Welsh Rebel Pub drama complete with medals.
.
This has all been captured on a collection of film 'Cilmeri's Cyfamodwyr Years' made by HJD's fellow 'Cambrianista' Robert Hinton aka ''Castrol''. It really should be made public by DVD or at least I would consider the aforementioned flmed Patriotic Speech be put on YouTube, that would certainly excite some radical nationalist support for the HJD campaign in Preseli where HJD is fighting an obnoxious Tory Stephen Crabb. What I know of HJD suffice to say, is I consider him to be a pure nationalist, though 'Right Wing', he's no Cultural Nationalist but neither is he what one could describe as Left or Liberal nor a pacifist as most Plaid Candidates would be. I have has already written up a little on HJD on by blogs but you might learn more about HJD by visiting Web Links below >
