Amazing facts about Wales and the Welsh, though if you know anything about Wales and the Welsh, then it's not so amazing really. However did you know that there is a Cairn atop Pen y Pigyn above Corwen, set up in 1911 to commemorate the Investiture of that year,of an English Prince of Wales, oh yes held in Caernarfon. The Plaque on this Cairn states this awfull fact. What the hell! were Pobl Corwen thinking of to errect this Cracker of a Carbuncle on our Nations bum for? I just had to go up and see this as a truth for myself, once seen it's better forgotten really but still one must remember these excrutiating sad Uncle Taffy Forelock tugging episodes in our history. This has got to figure as just about one of the worst examples of ''Cambrianism'' one is ever likly to see, for more examples go check out my blog at http://cofcenedl.blogspot.com/.

The walk nearly killed me but worth it as this Cairn aside, the view from Pen y Pigyn is stunning, so yes! do make the effort to go see this folly of a Cairn and the view accross to Caerdrewyn
.
.Atop Caerdrewyn is another Carn began by Cofiwn many years ago, this is Carn Rhyddid set up to mark gathering at Caerdrewyn on 18 Medi 1400, the band of warriors that would raid Ruthin. Thus began the Great War of National Liberation 1400 - 16 - 22, a much better Patriotic Carn than the aforementioned 1911 Cairn. If ever going to visit this Caerdrewyn Carn do take a stone from your own community to add to it, in such way it will become truelly a National Carn.

Owain Glyndwr had to wait another 96 years befor Pobl Corwen errected a fitting memorial in memory of the true last Prince of Wales, but at least we might say that it was worth waiting for. Now Patriots can gather about this maginificent statue annually on or about 16 Medi 'Dydd Glyndwr' with purpose of remembering our greatest of National Heroes and the struggle he began in this area at his court of Llys Glyndyfrdwy. MAKE THIS A MAJOR PATRIOTIC PRIORITY, even far more important that the annual Rali Cilmeri when all is said and done, ain't that a truth! Do I really have to tell you why?
