Perhaps unfortunatly, Wales never rose to occaision of a post French Revolution struggle for 'Popular Soverighty' that might have led to a Welsh Republic, sad to say but true radical 18th century radicals as 'Cultual Romantic Nationalist' Iolo Morgannwg were 'British Republicans' in same way as are Guardianesque 'British Republicans' today. Whilst 19th Century Welsh Romantic Radicals/Cultural Nationalists would support a Welsh Chartism that sought a British Republic, although the English Chartist Henry Vincent thought Wales would make a fine Republic! But, I think he meant a Southern Welsh Republic which such contemporary Welsh Republicans as Harri Webb (R.I.P.) called a 'Silurian Republic'. What ever, the point is, that a Welsh Republican struggle for a Welsh 'Popular Sovereignty' does not count for much at moment, of course that could all change over the coming years. As Welsh Republicans will have 'Opportunity of Occaisions' to 'Seize The Time' in campaigns opposing English Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in 2012 and 1953 Coronation Commemoration in 2013,we shall see if ''Welsh Republicans'' can walk the walk or are just talk! talk! talk! Whatever, such campaigns could provide 'umbrella and platform' out of which a new Welsh Republican Movement may arise, to struggle for 'Popular Soveignhty' and Welsh Republican form of Welsh Independence?
