Telling it as it really is, at end of the day it's a truth that Welsh Cultural 'language' Nationalism is much more a developed ideal that dominates within Plaid Cymru sometimes thought to be a Welsh Nationalist Party. Certainly the main leading figures of Welsh Cultural 'language' Nationalism specifically Saunders Lewis and Gwynfor Evans were protagonists of a Cultural 'language' Nationalism where on the whole the fate of the native language was more important than the struggle for Welsh Independence and Sovereign Nationhood.

Saunders Lewis certainly regarded the survival of the language as more important than Independence, his ideas have influenced many Cultural 'Language' Nationalists who if honest would indicate they think and feel the same way. Certainly the language Movement Adfer did and I would not be surprised if most members of present day language groups Cymuned and Llais Gwynedd thought the same way. Whilst CyIG aka Plant Crachach and fellow camp followers I suggest for the most part also consider the same unless of course they had political ambitions to be Plaid AM's, MP's or MEP's with need to hold out a political nationalist pretense for a while.

Clearly it is Cultural 'language' Nationalism that predominates in Cymru/Wales and not Political Nationalism and reading the below will clearly show this not only has a long historical past but certainly has got a future. Not that needs be means the aspirations of Cultural 'language' Nationalists will succeed towards a fully bilingual Cymru/Wales, it is very doubtful that such will be so unless there are really radical language policies adopted. The Cymry/Welsh will also need to have a major change of heart if the continued decline of 'Yr Hen Iaith' is to be halted and language saved even in it's Cymric Rural Heartlands against the threat of rural economic decline and depopulation.

However, it is the political pointlessness of Plaid Cymru with it's shabby cynicism and shallow prefabrications regards being or not being a Nationalist Party along with duplicitous role of the Welsh Assembly politics which at end of day crosses the 'T's and dots the 'i's. All as me put it in a box and nail down the lid so to speak! Whatever, there is a truth we must all face, we of an older generation, can we honestly advance ideas of an unsustainable Independence when our Nation's Sovereignty has been totally sold out to the European Union before we have even won it back from England. It's all rather nonsensical when we must admit Socially and Economically we are not only historically an unwanted Nation State but now one that has no chance of succeeding. We are but a failed Nation State in waiting and taking this truth aboard can one honestly seek to win people over to a lost cause or condemn ones children and grandchildren to live here in hopelessness and no real fulfillment with lies and a fraud that speaks not the truth that Wales is Dieing! It's future, is as a West British Region almost that already if the truth was known and that Crachach and Chattering Classes Construct was not pulling the wool over our eyes.

Sorry to say the truth is FIN! but that's only if one continues to believe in Nationalist Day Dreams, alternativelly perhaps the Welsh can continue to learn to live, work and die in a West British Region. Certainly Y Cymry can, they have been doing so since Cenedl Glyndwr sadly became a failed Nation State!

The reality is of course a dieing dream and to persue it just keeps Y Crachach - England's Client Tribe in Wales in existence and in power plus of course truelly has and continues to make Political Nationalism impotant! Jac is also too the right and hence, many of his 'Cilmeri Mates' being renegade republicans who have slunked back into ranks of Plaid Cymru or meander around as 'GOBS'. Some including Jac being Camp Following 'Cambrianistas' backing the 'Secret Agenda' of Right Wing Nationalist Henry Jones Davies to become a power 'Mover and Shaker' within Plaid Cymru, it rumoured plotting to take over even? or at least that's what Toni Lewis RIP told me before he passed away. Whatever, Jac writes well and writes good stuff not least of late what he thinks about the Referendum and worth of Nationalists considering Voting No! Do read this and pay attention to some good facts Jac places before you, am sure Jac will carry the torch for many years to come of 'Alternative Welsh Nationalism', most importantly he his an Alternative Welsh Nationalist thinker and writter. He should seriously consider publishing all his many articles and letters to the press, over the years he has wrote much that you will not often hear from Plaid Politicians or such Literati Lickspittals as Ned Thomas and Trefor Fishlock et al.

Post Script For A Patriot.

So soon after the death of Vernon Griffith late last year writting this in memory of Robert ap Steffan is the last thing I though I would be doing at the start of this year, so sad his passing. I first met Robert when he turned up in Pencoed with a 'Company' of Rhondda FWA, by that I mean youngsters, as we all were then (See foto in blog link below). The 'wearing of the green', the percieved 'uniform' was no more than a means of youthful 'Hwntws' to identify with the cause of Welsh Freedom. Robert was wearing the full FWA kit but it was the 'Castro Cap' which was to give him the nick name that stuck with him all his life although Robert was to mature patriotically via activism on behalf of CyIG in their 'Sixties Campaigns', he nevertheless was a radical Anti - Investiture Activist. Robert was in time to become a 'Plaid Man' via membership of the Young Nationalist Association and remained so all his life and although not becoming an 'Alternative Nationalist' as many did over the years, he nevertheless supported a number of causes and campaigns keenly advanced seperate of Plaid Cymru as the Census Campaign. Not least Robert was a keen supporters of Cymric Consciosness Campaigning and associated work in areas of Welsh History as noted in the Embassy Glyndwr link above and below. Robert was a regular writter of letters to the Western Mail on a verity of Nationalist subjects and a regular attendee of the annual Rali Cilmeri where hence, I am sure he will be most sorely missed by his fellow 'Cilmeriaid' .

There are two fotos of 'Sixties' Robert in first blog link below, this post also gives good account of the 'Sixties Struggle' but from a Patriotic Front perspective. I really could do for the AWNM&S History Archive a fuller account on the Young Nationalist Association and the Celtic League, their Youth Congress in particular. Can any one out there write up for me and I willl post up in the ANWM&S Archive or otherwise this will be crucial activist history lost, so please some one write asap also ap Sion when are you going to write something up on your Welsh Republican activism before that history disappears too!
