YOU DO NOT NEED THE WEATHERMAN TO TELL YOU WHICH WAY THE WIND IS GOING TO BLOW!

.
OUR SACRED HILLS.
.

letter sent to western mail by Terry Breverton.

One man more than any other, Owain Glyndwr, has given us the sense of Wales as a nation, and made us what we are today. The defining moment in his 15-year-war for independence was the Battle of Hyddgen, in the foothills of Pumlumon in the wonderful Cambrian Mountains. Without that success at Hyddgen in 1401, the war would have ended in its first year. It is a place that defines Wales as a nation - a land of bogs and buzzards, rocks and streams, untouched for centuries. This is one of the very, very few unspoilt areas left in Wales, almost a sacred landscape. From Pumlumon, one can see 250 wind turbines and hundreds more are planned. Almost half of Britain's wind turbines have already been thrown across Wales by foreign corporations. Much of our land is already covered by the scars of urbanisation, and politicians seem bent on killing our only remaining industry, tourism. I have driven around the Cotswolds and the Lake District recently - where are their windfarms? I drive all over our tiny country researching for writing, and the great, noisy, ugly things are everywhere. Cambria Magazine stopped printing letters on windfarms as its editor said that around 99% of Welsh people did not want them. However, it seems that 99% of our elected politicians do. My taxes are used to subsidise these monsters, built overseas and usually run by foreign corporations. There is no cost-effective case for them whatsoever (speaking as an economist) and they are despoiling our remaining landscapes (speaking as a Welshman). For Heaven's sake call a halt to this 'progress' immediately.

Further to above I inform you of a post in Owain Glyndwr Communicates blog of Embassy Glyndwr, this post is also titled 'Our Sacred Hills' - Heritage in the Landscape and also deals with subject of the Pumlumon Mountains and site of the Battle of Mynydd Hyddgen (see my blog: I'r Gad Welsh Battlefield Campaign) and the matter of Windmills. This post is dated 11 - 04 - 2007. Thus I, of course support fully what Terry Breverton says on this subject regards the 'Windmilling of Wales', and further bring to your attention my suggestion that those who oppose the 'Windmilling of Wales' take inspiration from what Terry reminds us of regards Owain Glyndwr and the Battle of Mynydd Hyddgen. Would not the site of this most significant of Battles in our history be more than appropriate location to lunch a truly major mobilisation of Anti - Windmill Activists, Supporters and Sympathisers in a National Campaign to raise the profile of this issue to a major level of Welsh Public Attention and begin a struggle that will lead to final victory, and not just keep this issue hitting a dead end of despair. The Battle of Hyddgen was fought some time in early to middle May, maybe the be the first of May 'Beltain' would be as good a time as any to hold such a national event, so Anti - Windmill Activists think on it and make my suggestion a priority proposal for your discussion. Then if accepted, I suggest that a National Campaign Coordinating body is set up, and one and all get on with organising that MASS MOBALISATION on Plumlumon!
.
I further suggest you look up 'SACRED HILLS' on the web with a Google search, some interesting stuff comes up worth a read, as will the poem below:

HARPING ON FOR THE ENGLISH MONARCHY AT INVESTITURES AND NOW RUGBY MATCHES, A Great Welsh Tradition Since 1282.

...And just where did this come from? see below:
.
If they can win over the Cymry (Cymraeg Speakers so easy what chance of the Welsh (English Speakers) resisting the charms of English Royalty when accompanied by the sickly harp tunes of Bradwyr and their supporters?

.....Just where did the above come from, an English Royal Circular, no afraid not, see below for perhaps not such a big suprise......

Notice no complaints in this piece of pulp about that 'WILLIAM WALES CUP', so much for 'Cambrianista' Petitioning - PATHETIC!!!!

THE WINDMILLING OF WALES CONTINUES - WHEN WILL IT END? You don't need a Weatherman to tell you which way the wind is going to blow.

........Not while Ioan Richards and other Patriotic Stalwarts are active in the campaign to rid our landscape of the Metal Monsters. However, the arguements go back and fore in angry letters to the press, and as each side pitches their case it gets harder and harder to make sense of it all. As facts and figures are bandied about. Is it not time to engage in more pro - active struggle? almost on a daily basis year after year, the arguements go on and on for one, I am tempted to go the way of Harry Hill and simply say ''FIGHT!''.
.
There is only one fact I am interested in, and that is quite simply, I don't like this ''Industrial Furniture'', be it windmills or pylons all over our landscape, not least when such blights out Heritage in the Landscape or our land is used by Lords to make a fast buck. Thus, I say quite simply, it's time to rise up the Red Pitchfork and blow the horn of Liberty, then all rally to the call >>>> TRECH GWLAD NAG ARGLWYDD! It really is time to make a stand, to take action that shows we mean business, the time for pussyfooting around on this issue must come to end, so where and when shall some real struggle commence? REMEMBER REBECCA!!!!!
.
This is my personal opinion and may not be that of the below or others involved in the Campaign against the Metal Monsters, neither do I intend to jump the gun on any action, suffice I await the call and I hope many others will too. In the mean time do all you can to help the Anti - Windmill Campaign as and when you can, see info and requests for support below.

Swansea City & County Councillor Ioan Richard, 23, Mountain Rd., Craigcefnparc, Swansea SA6 5RH Tel 01792 843861

I’d like to ask you AND your friends a big favour. Can you all OBJECT to Swansea Council Planners about the proposal by Npower for Wind turbines on Mynydd y Gwair in northern Swansea. You will have to give your detail (names and addresses) and your reasons for OBJECTION – mostly Planning Reasons (plus anything else). Write by Royal Mail to:-

Mr David Owen, Case Officer, Planning Dept., City & County of Swansea, Civic Centre, Swansea SA1 or by e mail (giving all details) to david.owen@swansea.gov.uk QUOTING PLANNING APPLICATION Ref 2008 / 1781 wind Turbines Mynydd y Gwair.

Here are some background details on internet:- http://www.socme.org/

and http://www.socme.org/photogalleries.html

If objecting, it is best to write your own letter (however brief) than just filling in boxes on a protest Form.

I’ve been in this for over FOURTEEN YEARS – you can forget Plaid Cymru – they desperately want Cymru to be a world leader in anything / something and the only “something” they can latch onto is for Wales to be the fall guy accepting all the Wind Turbines from foreign developers from Germany; Spain ; Japan; USA & Denmark AND ENGLAND to totally plaster Wales’ scenery! The only politicians who have actively opposed Wind Turbines are those with proposals in their BACK YARD – as individual NIMBYS vote huggers – not here - but OK everywhere else - NIMBYs. Nick Bourne and only Nick Bourne has consistently opposed Wind Turbines everywhere - because a very astute and articulate English Architect and rural countryside lover a Mrs Anne West of Powys is a very big shot in Nick Bourne’s local Conservative Party and she got him strictly mandated by the Powys Conservative Party to oppose Wind Turbines - which he has done under orders to do so. All the others of all Parties all MPs & all AMs & all MEPs & most Councillors (except the Nimby cases and vote huggers) all want Wales totally covered in these useless monsters!

What needs highlighting is - Who is advising Government etc over Climate issues? Examples are:- Al Gore USA – his adviser on Climate is a “Green” former Railway Engineer; Wales Assembly Chief Scientific Adviser is a former Graduate Lab Technician; Wales Assembly Adviser on Tidal Energy is a middle ranking former Sewage Works Engineer; Westminster Government BERR Department (former DTI) use “Green” Neil Crumpton a former Navy Signalman; the Welsh Press and Media use “Green” Gordon James who does not reveal if he has any qualifications (??) at all and Wales Plaid Cymru Party used former Wales Assembly Member Cynog Dafis a former literature lecturer who has publicly admitted he is in-numerate! Our local Launderette Assistant says she is thinking of applying for one of these positions herself as she left school without “O” Levels but she can guess weather predictions by the way soap bubbles blow around her back yard.

Yours, Ioan M. Richard

I had a laugh at this below from a pathetic Chris Franks AM. As a Councillor myself of decades of service I am used to Political Banter. I do not hate Plaid Cymru – what I do hate is (1) their pathetic Energy Policies and (2) their modern brand of Politicians POST (after) Owain Glyndwr; Saunders Lewis ; Gwynfor Evans ; Dafydd Wigley - all pandering to the UK “don’t rock the boat brigade!”. When is Ieuan Wyn Jones AM, Wales Assembly Deputy First Minister going to reply to anyone on Energy issues? He is losing his own constituency prime jobs at Ynys Mon Aluminium just as I type this e mail - because of flawed Plaid Cymru’s Energy Policies! We need to respond to this dick head Chris Franks AM, christopher.franks@wales.gov.uk. and ask him what is his answer to the forthcoming Energy crisis let alone natural Climate Change. Is he a Climatologist or an Engineer or an Economist or just full of horse manure – ask him for his CV.

Here we go.... the happy new year has started here!!!! All of Wales to be covered soon!

That's not the end of it, I am sure.

What a bargain, at £2.99 at WORKS discount store and really worth a lot more, this book will give all you Retro, Romantic and for RRReal Welsh Republicans hours of pleasure and wishful thinking! I wonder how big a similar book of great Welsh Speeches would be and what the speeches would be like? Perhaps, if a book of great Cilmeri Rally Speeches, then might be up to scratch but otherwise? Whatever, rush out and get this book asap and maybe get aspirational and inspired to greater things than blogging away and attending the annual 'Cambrianista' Dydd Dewi Parade. HHHhhhmmm!!!, like getting your ''Welsh Republican'' backsides off the fence, feet walk across the line and be at the gate of Castell Caernarfon on 1st July 2009. Don't forget make and take some Welsh Republican Flags along as well to wave at Carlo and William Wales.!
