USA THANKS GIVING DAY WALES ?

For history of Thanks Giving Day USA, note that even though Virginia was the first English Colony in America, it was the New England venture of the Pilgrim Fathers which got the ''National Day'' hype. This was largely due to fact that the whole thing got motivation during the American Civil War to help unify the country, but of course Virginia being in the Confederacy put that state Beyond the Pale so to speak. Whatever, fact of the matter is it is hardly a Thanks Giving Day' for Native Americans, for their views on such check out the web, nor least AMERICAN INDIAN WEBSITES, see link below and note in particular Anti - Columbus Day Demonstrations. Evidently BBC Wales could not stop prattling most of the day about this American Holiday, if only they did the same for Cofia 11 Rhagfyr 1282.

The fotos I have placed on this post are of a memorial at Southwark Cathedral to mark much, not least the theft of Native American land. What is very interesting is that this memorial is also very much an apology by the English Crown for such act of Conquest and Colonisation, now ain't that something. I am of the mind it may be a good idea that on the 1st July 2009, perhaps on steps leading to gateway entrance of Caernarfon Castle or perhaps around the 'Dias of Defeat' inside the Castle we call upon the English Crown to apolagise for their Conquest and Colonisation, Oppression and Exploitation of Cymru.

HHHhhhmmm!!!! Good idea, I juggle them like balls and sometimes it works for Wales, so make note of that but as any one out there got any ideas as to the wording of such 1 July 2009 Proclamation, if so do let me know. Other than this, I may pop down to Southwark later today and place some Ivy at this memorial, does anyone know of any fitting site in Wales with Native American connection, where we can hold ceremony on 29 December annually a Wales - Native American Indian Solidarity Action in memory of Wounded Knee 1890.

WELSH NATIONALIST PHILOSOPHY AND THEORY

Welsh Nationalism is not exactly a Goldmine for any original concepts and writtings on Welsh Nationalist Philosophy and theory, in the main Welsh Nationalism for most part concerns itself with Cultural Nationalist navel gazing. However, there does exist a few 'gems' as the below complete with a foreword by none other than the now dead Enoch Powell. In good time I will draw your attention to further 'gems', in doing so it does not mean I agree with their contents but will you?

THE NOMAD: Another National Hero Film but what about Cymru/Wales?

I have only recently bought this film (£6) and have not had chance to view it, you can see a number of reviews on the web plus some Video Stream Clips. Some of the reviews are none too good but what the hell buy it for your National Heroes Film Collection in which a must of course is The Lion of Flanders for starters. No doubt many of you already have Braveheart but what about the recently produced MONGOL and this NOMAD, both are examples of newly established Nation - States seeking to assert their national identity through the movies and none too afraid on spending an huge ammount of money in such worth while National Identity reaffirming mission. I some how think that it is in the long term best interest of a National future for Cymru if S4C used some of its money mountain (£100 Million plus) on an epic film about Owain Glyndwr. Whilst I sugest the so called BBC Wales used it's fortune on producing an epic film on Alexander Cordells RAPE OF THE FAIR COUNTRY instead of wasting money on Dr Who, Merlin and now Casualty plus much more that come out of it's WEST BRITAIN BBC PORTFOLIO. Lets get the TV productions Cymru/Wales deserves and also see Film Cymru or whatever its called these days actually produce films that puts ''Bums on Seat'' and makes money for real and are not perpetually hawked around film festivals. By way what happened to VALLEYWOOD? One and all should be made aware that a remake is being made of an old Hollywood Werewolf Horror Movie set in Wales. But guess where its being made, Greenwhich, England and guess what Anthony Hopkins stars it, so me thinks that if you cannot get this made in VALLEYWOOD, then you are not going to get many films made there at all. Another Rip Off?

The purpose of this post is to draw your attention to the fourth coming book noted above, and to provide here a photo tribute to John Jenkins who along with Trefor Morgan, Pedr Lewis and Cliff Bere, Owen Williams and Niel ap Siencyn also the sadly departed Toni Lewis, Cayo Evans and Denis Coslett are amongst the few really great patriots of the 'Alternative Welsh Nationalist Movement and Struggle'. It is however most unfortunate for that AWNM&S that John did not pursue a political career, for if one reads the book of his Prison letters, there can be no doubt at all that here was a politically intelligent and absolutely shrewd clever patriot that could have delivered the patriotic political policies needed with a sound Patriotic leadership. That John Jenkins did not pursue such path, was and is a great loss to the struggle of National Liberation for Welsh Independence. It would be great if our new National Theatre or even Theatr Clwyd had some guts to put on the play THE DRUMMER (see below) , inspired by John Jenkins. After all ''Welsh Theatre'' were quick enough to put on a play that sought to tarnish Cayo as a great Patriot and National Hero, see on web FRANCO's BASTARD by that real enough bastard Dick Edwards.
